Ideally, we should all have our teeth cleaned once per year, however the American Dental Association still advocates for check-ups every 6 months.  Check ups typically include full mouth dental x-rays, thorough oral examination as well as oral cancer screening exams.

The health of your gum tissue will determine how often each patient needs cleaning although the ADA still recommends cleanings every 6 months.

The first dental visit should be scheduled by your child’s first birthday to have his/her teeth and gums checked.  Further follow up is recommended every 6 months to prevent cavities and/or any other dental problems.

Dr. Blackmon will conduct a thorough full oral examination, including x-rays, as well as oral cancer screening.  A thorough cleaning will be performed or scheduled to determine the health of a patients gum tissue.
